Spicy delicious mouthwatering Chicken Dum Biryani easily made at home.
Ingredients:
Chicken( cut in normal pieces) - 1 kg
Long grain basmati rice - 1 kg
Ginger garlic paste-2 tblsp
Salt
Thick/ hung curd - 250 gm
Red chilli powder-1 teasp
Garam masala powder- 1 teasp
Biyrani masala- 2 tblsp
Onions- 8 mudium
Tomatoes- 4
Mint- 1small bowl
Coriander leaves- 1 bunch
Whole garam masale- 2 teasp all together
Turmeric-1 teasp
Recipe
1.Blend all( coriander, mint, tomatoes, ginger garlic) in food processor or chop finely.
2. Marinate chicken with above grinded masala, curd, garam masala powder, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric..for about 1-1.5 hr.
3. Fry slices of onions. Put some in marinated chicken.
4. Wash & soak rice for 30 mins.
5. Take big pot & take adequate water. Put whole garam masale, salt & boil it.
6. Add soaked & drained rice & cook till half done.
7. Drain the water & keep half cooked rice aside.
8. Now, slice one potato & one tomato & spread in the bottom of vessel in which we r layering biryani.
9. Put marinated chicken. Spread some fried onions & chopped coriander.
10. Now layer the rice.
11. Spread fried onions, chopped mint, coriander.
12. Dissolve some saffron in milk / yellow colour & pour it on rice randomly.
13. Make holes in between & pour oil which should go upto lower layer of chicken.
14. Cover with tight lid.
15. Seal the lid with aluminium foil or wheat dough.
16. Cook for 10 mins on high flame & 40 mins on low flame.
17. After 15-20 mins, u can put heavy tawa below the vessel so that biryani should not burn from lower side.
18. Serve with layer with raita or salan.
